Hi Joanne & Richard,
Just a quick e-mail to say what a superb Jack the Ripper walk we had with you recently, it was the best walk Monarch social club have been on. We have had a few walks in the east end of London but none matched the excitement we had when on your walk. Richard, you brought the walk to life and for a while our imagination took us back to the smoke filled cold dark nights of the east end during 1888.
Can’t wait to book again to allow other members to experience part of London’s History. By far the best evening we have had for a long time, recommend your tours to anyone.
Keep it up.
Regards,
Chris Warren (Monarch Airlines social Club).

Dear Sirs,

Can I ask you to pass on our sincere thanks to Mark who did an exceptional Jack the Ripper Walk for us on 5th June 2008. We found him an enjoyable host and his obvious knowledge about the subject really shone through. He has really inspired us to want to know more about not just the ripper murders but also about the social history of the perios.

This isn't a question, just a big thank you to Philip for taking myself and my friend round for the tour on Saturday 3rd May - and thanks for signing the book with kisses LOL. You gave a very good guided tour, obviously very knowledgeable about what you're saying, you're a credit to your company.

Sir / Madam,
I would like express my gratitude for an excellent tour last night (18 Apr 08). The guide [Jenny Philips] really brought the gruesome story of Jack the Ripper to life. Her depth of knowledge demonstrated her professionalism and dedication to researching the subject. The party I was with were all very impressed, especially when the boss was singled out for wearing a coat, the like of which, could have been worn by Jack when he went about his dastardly deeds. It is now called his ripper coat.
Again many thanks for a great evening.
Regards,
Brian Wall

Hi
We want to book a private group tour for Sunday 31/08/2008 and I would like to request Jenny Phillips be our guide. If Jenny is not available, maybe we can have Richard Jones as our guide. We took a tour with Jenny in December and loved her. That was actually our third tour in a week -- we tried two other companies first and were not impressed at all and had just about given up on having a tour as part of our celebration. I have to say you guys are by far the best. I was very impressed with how Jenny kept us entertained and interested despite the cold weather and after we had already been on 2 other tours that week -- that really says something about her abilities.
Thank you,
Patricia Johnson. N. J. USA

Hi Joanne,
We went on the tour on Monday [14th April 2008] and it was great. Did not catch the narrators name [Jenny Philips] but she was really great. Would have been even better if the City of London would have conserved those places of the Murder. But great tour great time.

Dear Sirs
We would just like to say a big thank you to Mark [Ubsdell] who took us on our JTR tour yesterday evening [10th April 2008] A fantastic, interesting evening was had by all and I've had loads of comments on what a great tour guide he was. He really kept us all enraptured.
Thanks again

Good
morning Joanne
I haven't been in the office this week , and I would just like to
say on behalf of Mount Rayleigh WI thanks very much for organising
the walk on 29th March 2008. Mark was really nice and informative
and although it rained all through the walk, and some of my ladies
were struggling a bit, they thoroughly enjoyed themselves, and I
have had lots of phone calls to this effect.
So I thought I would pass on their thanks to you.

Hi Joanne
Could you please pass our thanks to Richard for the tour de force he gave us last night [16th March 2008] on the ripper tour. It was fantastic to see those old alleys and streets and it was very creepy. Richard really brought the story to life and Richard's skills as an orator held us captivated throughout the entire walk.

Hi Joanne,
Just a quick e-mail to say how much we enjoyed last night's Jack the Ripper Tour [25th February 2008]
Lindsay [Lindsay Siviter] was a complete professional, so very friendly and so enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the whole subject and she had us all well and truly hooked. She answered all our questions and even dramatised some of the characters, told us poems and sang us a song at the end! Which was perfect for our theatre group - we love a few theatrics!!

Thank you so much for changing our booking at such short notice. I have to say that your customer service does you great credit. When we phoned up we expected to be fobbed off, but instead we were treated with courtesy by your representative [Joanne Jones]. When we arrived for the rearranged tour [1st February 2008] your guide [Jenny Phillips] was equally professional and we had a great time whilst learning an awful lot about both Jack the Ripper and the history of the area. When we passed another tour that must have had 80 or more people on it we were so pleased we had booked with you. Thank you so much for taking so much trouble to provide such a good service and thank you especially for your considerate and understanding treatment. We'll most certainly join you again when we return to your wonderful city.

What a great night you gave us last night [16th January 2008]. It was so refreshing to find something in London that not only offered value for money but which also exceeded our wildest expectations. We had expected to be walked round quickly and just hear a little bit of Jack the Ripper history. What we got was a guide who not only knew the facts but was able to keep us gripped from the start to the finish. It really was an experience we won't forget and I would and will recommend your tour to anyone I know who is going to be visiting London.
Sincerely

Did the tour with Lindsey on Wednesday [19th December 2007]. She was a terrific guide, very knowledgeable and very passionate about her subject. It was also nice to be part of a small group as we felt we really got the feel of the area. Keep up the good work and have a rippingly good Xmas!

Hi
Just wanted to say what a great night we had on the tour on Monday.
[17th December 2007] I really felt as though I was walking back in 1888 and the way our guide Mark described the streets and the murders really did have us looking nervously around. What a bitterly cold night it was last night [
13th December 2007] but I really must say a huge thank you to you for the Jack the Ripper tour you gave us. From the start you had us gripped with the full drama of what happened way back then and those first streets we went in to were fantastic. It was like being back in Jack's day. I particularly liked your touch when you asked us to close our eyes and smell the smoke from the house fires. When you then asked us to multiply that by the number of houses in London in the 19th century all burning coal it really did bring home to me how choking London must have once been. I hope the nights get warmer for you, but the warmth and enthusiasm of your presentation made for a great night no matter how cold.Best Wishes
Nicola Wright.

My girlfriend and I experienced the Jack the Ripper tour on
Sunday 9th December and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The actual walk was really
good and well planned, but what made it was the tour guide; Philip Hutchinson -
he led the group and relayed the facts of the Ripper case with such passion,
humour and expert knowledge. I'm sure we will be purchasing Philip's new book
The London of Jack the Ripper in the very near
future! If you could pass this message on to Philip I will be very grateful.
Thank you for a truly great evening.
With kind regards and wishing you a Happy Christmas,

Good Morning
Just to let you know that we all thoroughly enjoyed last night
[21st November 2007] Jack The Ripper Tour with Jenny. It certainly gave us a lot more insight and knowledge to a story that all of us have grown up with. I haven’t really been able to get it out of my mind. Jenny was an excellent guide and brought home to us the social conditions of the age as well as the sheer brutality of Jack’s murders.

Dear Richard
Took the tour with you last night
[8th November 2007] and wanted to say how informative and well presented it was. The Rolls trying to do a three point turn in the first narrow alley set things off nicely! The photographs are a great idea as they really helped build a picture of what it was like back then, and you really did treat us to a genuine insight into the Jack the Ripper murders that was both educational yet entertaining. Thanks for the curry suggestion at the end, the Sheraz was terrific.Cheers.

Just to say I took my daughter (aged 15) [23rd October 2007] and friend on last night's walk guided by Lindsay. It was excellent. Very well presented (and not too big a group) I shall be recommending you when my visitors come from the US in the New Year.
Thank you.

Richard,
What a great and entertaining, though gruesome evening
[30th September 2007]. I hadn't realised when booking that it was an anniversary night so to speak, so to actually stand on one of the murder sites on the anniversary of the event was, to say the least, a chilling experience. Thank you so much for your great knowledge and enthusiastic approach, you really had us looking over our shoulders a few times. I'm still smirking at your "put down" to the drunk who approached us half way through, he certainly went off with his head hung low, a priceless moment!!!!We will certainly see you again for your ghost walk on our next visit.
Until then keep the chills coming.

Hi
I just wanted to say many thanks to Lindsay Siviter for being an excellent guide when I went on the Jack the Ripper Walk last weekend [18th August 2007]. I have always held a fascination with Jack the Ripper and Lindsay made it all seem so much more real. So much so that I would love to research it all further.
Would you please pass on my thanks to Lindsay and any information on good books or DVD's to purchase would be most welcome.

Dear Sir/Madam
I would just like to say thank you
for an excellent tour.
I was on the tour of Friday 13th
July 2007, with my wife, daughter and her friend. The tour guide
[Lindsay Siviter] was very
informative and certainly knew her stuff and I got the
impression that she enjoyed doing the tour herself, unlike some
tour guides who just go through the motions.
All in all, it was a fascinating two
hours and I have been recommending the tour to all my friends.
Thank you once again.

work in the area and thought it would be good to know the whole
story of the Whitechapel murders.
My brother and sister-in-law who are visiting from Australia enjoyed
it very much too!

Just wanted to say what a great time we had on your Jack the Ripper Walk last night, 22nd June. Those old alleyways were so creepy and our guide [Jenny Philips] pitched her commentary just right. Hello,
I was recently visiting London and took one of Mr. Jones's tours. Can I just say that my friends and I had the best time? I really didn't know what to expect...but I was really impressed and had a few good laughs. Mr. Jones is a true entertainer and he really gave the first night of our month long Eurotrip a great kickoff. Yes, we flew into Heathrow at 10am and took the tour at 7pm - totally jetlagged - and still had an awesome time! Just wanted to say thanks a million!______________________________________________________________
Dear All,
Just wanted to say thanks very much for an excellent tour on Friday. Our

have to book that soon!
Thanks again,

Richard
Thanks for a great tour last night.
[MAY 22ND] It was interesting to see that many of the streets have survived unchanged as I had been led to believe that the area was all modern and that nothing had survived. That first alleyway was like a door back in time and the rat that ran behind you as you were talking about the sordid streets of 1888 was hilarious. Did you plan that?!!!! It was nice to have a guide who knew the subject and was able to chat with the group and field any of our questions. I can't wait to get a copy of your book when it comes out. [It will be published on June 2nd by New Holland in England and Barnes and Noble in America]. You are a great storyteller and really know how to hold a group spellbound.Best Wishes

Dear Richard,
Last Tuesday night (May 8) we had the pleasure of being part of one of your Jack
the Ripper walks. The woman who conducted the tour (I'm sorry but I don't
think she shared her name with us -
Richard
The walk was great. [May 2nd 2007] That first alley really gave me the creeps and then it just got better and better. I had read that none of the London from Jacks day survived so was expecting modern streets and a bit of a guided tour. What I got was buildings that had dates on them like 1886 and houses that you could just see how old they were. The route you followed really helped build the suspense and the way you told the story, no sensationalism but gripping, sympathetic and slightly spooky, had myself and the last of our group hooked. I was also glad to be part of a small more intimate group than those other tours we saw where you could see the people on it just weren't enjoying themselves. I would recommend your tour without hesitation.
Cheers Mate.
David Fraser.

Sirs
After taking your Jack the Ripper tour on the evening of April 3rd 2007, we have nothing to say but compliments. Our tour guide was Jenny and she taught us everything about the subject of Jack the Ripper and even events that forensic experts discovered last year. She brought the story to life.
She told us everything about the subject, for example she told us the names of the victims, life living in those times in London and the people that spotted the victims deaths. In our opinion, your tour should be a must see for anyone visiting London and Jenny makes the experience even more enjoyable.
Sincerely

I just wanted to write and say thank you for such an interesting walk last night (22/03/07). I've read lots about the Ripper and didn't think there would be much to learn, but Richard's depth of knowledge is amazing. The fact he still has such enthusiasm for the subject despite doing these walks in the English weather for 25 years is inspirational! I would recommend this tour to anyone interested in London's history.

Myself and two friends went on the Ripper walk on a very cold Tuesday 19th March 2007. Jenny, our guide was very good, and we all thoroughly enjoyed the walk. My friends both live and work in London (one right in the east end) yet we were shown places and alleys that they didn't know existed. Afterwards we spent an enjoyable few hours getting warmed up again in a local pub and discussing the evening's events!
Word of warning, go to
the loo and wrap up warm before you head out on the tour!!!
Thanks for a great night

Dear Sirs
I wanted to drop you a quick note to thank you and most importantly our guide, Colin for a most enjoyable and informative tour on Tuesday 20th March 2007.
As a totally new adventure, you are never quite sure how these sort of events will go down with guests but suffice it to say, judging by the comments at our buffet supper afterwards, every member of our party thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
This was very much down to our guide, Colin, who impressed everyone with his knowledge of the subject matter and his relaxed style of delivery.
I would be grateful if you could pass on my sincere thanks to him for making the evening go so smoothly.
Yours Sincerely

we have returned home from our walk tonight [4th March 2007] in the wet and rain with the urge to do the whole thing over again, we found it extremely interesting although I have been interested in it for quite some time, although I have my beliefs I do not rule out others after all I am not going to solve a mystery that has been going on for over 100 years in one wet evening. But I must say your lady guide [Jenny Phillips] was exceptional and very easy to understand, In fact I would not mind even becoming a guide myself now I know that with the exception of Bucks row and millers court that all streets are still there with their original names. thanks for a great time, I only live at the other end of the district line ...but it is nice to catch up with our local gruesome history...thanks once again...

Took the walk with your good selves on Wednesday [28th February 2007] and just had to write to say what a great time we all had. We were the group that arrived late and then ended up in completely the wrong place! One call to your office though and we were directed to where the tour was (the lady even phoned me back and stayed on the phone giving us step by step directions and didn't hang up until she'd got us to the tour.. fantastic service that goes way beyond what we expected). The guide [Jenny Phillips] welcomed us and then filled us in on what we'd missed as we were walking (again totally unexpected) and the tour was excellent. Creepy and informative and well presented. I would have no hesitation in recommending your company to anyone. From the professional way the booking process was handled, to the polite and efficient way we were handled on the night itself, you truly excelled at customer service. Well done and thanks.

Just wanted to say what a great tour you gave last night. [ 23rd February 2007] Our group really enjoyed it and on a personal note I have to say that I found your enthusiasm for the subject and your knowledge were beyond compare. The photos you passed around really added to it and the fact that you were happy to take questions and to stay behind afterwards and chat at length with an old ripper buff was greatly appreciated. I would have no hesitation in recommending your company to anyone who wants an entertaining and accurate introduction to the ripper.
All the best

Dear Sir/ Madam
We recently took part in the Jack the Ripper murder walk on 13th February 2007 with 26 year 10 pupils.
I wanted to write to thank you for the fascinating tour. Our guide [Philip Hutchinson] was absolutely brilliant with the pupils and pitched the talk right at them. I also wanted to thank you for your helpfulness and organisation during the planning of our trip.
The pupils found the talk intriguing, they are still talking about it, and it was extremely relevant to their coursework.
We hope to make this an annual trip and look forward to seeing you again in the future. I would certainly recommend the Jack the Ripper Walk with your company to other schools.

Thanks for a great evening tonight [30th January 2007] on the Jack the Ripper tour and thanks for being able to answer all my questions. I've been studying the subject now for about 10 years and it was nice to find a guide [Richard Jones] who was able to answer my questions and who took the time to discuss my theories as we walked between the stops. Even though we both disagree on who did it (you might remember I am convinced it was Cutbush) it was great to be able to argue the point with someone who knew what I was talking about and who was able to hold his own!!! Once again thanks so much and should I make it back to London I'll most certainly look for a rematch!!

Hi
Just got back from a great night on your Jack the Ripper walk. [26th January 2007] It was informative and entertaining and our guide Richard really knew his stuff. The photos of the area were a great idea as they really helped give an idea of what it was like back then. I was surprised that so many of the old houses have survived. I actually did another tour last year and we saw none of those places so I'm really glad that I found your company and got to see the real east end.
Thanks again.

Thanks for arranging the walk with Jenny last Monday [15th January 2007] she was a great storyteller and hearing those stories in those old alleys really was an eye opener and creepy.
Keep up the good work.

Dear Jack the Ripper Tours Company
I am just writing to you in order to thank you for an excellent tour on the 6th of December. Both groups from the Westlands School really enjoyed their tour of the East end and it has certainly put them in good stead for completing their GCSE coursework on Jack the Ripper.
The two guides Jenny and Phillip were both informative and very interesting. I personally found Phillip to be a real showman who mixed both hard facts and gruesome recounts with dark humour and jolly banter. He was just what the students needed to keep them interested and entertained.
I will certainly be booking another tour with you next year and would request the same tour guides.
Thanks once again for your flexibility and professionalism.
Yours Sincerely
Mr. Craig Hallam
Head of History
TheWestlands School.

Richard:
I can't thank you enough for the fabulous tour you gave my partner and I tonight . We are both Detective Supervisors from the LAPD and are in London attending a 3 week senior investigating officer training course with the London Met Police. We both found the tour fascinating and your knowledge and presentation were phenomenal. You were very enthusiastic and this tour was one of our favorite things we have done so far during the trip. We looked at the other groups doing tours with others and the people did not look like they were having any fun at all, in contrast to our group. Thanks again for a first class tour and we both highly recommend your tour
Thank you

Thank you so much!
We were in London last winter and took the tour. It was wonderful! In fact it was memories of that great evening with the snow falling and the tour guide giving descriptive images of Victorian London that drew me back to your site. Attached are a couple of photos we took. I didn't get one of our guide [Jenny Phillips], a very interesting woman, who was a vivid story teller.
Great tour and a wonderful first night experience for our trip to Britain!
Thanks again!

going into the the social history all of which was deeply interesting and
highly entertaining. We intend to come again Have a good xmas

I would just like to let you know what a great
evening we all had last night [November 22nd]
on our tour and how knowledgeable and charismatic Richard was. He
managed to bring a lot of humour and light heartedness into the evening as
well as obviously letting us know about all that happened all those years
ago. We saw a lot of London that didn't know existed. I will certainly
recommend the tour and hope that you pass on to Richard how much I and all
my colleagues enjoyed themselves.
Once again thank you.

Dear Jack the Ripper Tour,
My colleagues and I went on one of your tours last night
[October 26th 2006]
with Lindsay, and I just wanted to email
to say it was excellent. Quite possibly better than what I was expecting. I
felt Lindsay knew very much about the subject but did not present it in a
contrived manor, but really brought the case into the present day with some
new facts that I didn't know. I would definitely recommend your tour to
others. Keep up the good work.
I look forward to Lindsay's book.
Many Thanks again

I just had to respond and thank you for a most entertaining
evening on Thursday 19th
[of October].
Lindsey, hope the spelling is correct, was absolutely marvellous. So
full of information and enthusiasm. We learned a great deal from her and
would be really interested in reading her book when it is published. I
hope her research in South Africa is successful and thank you for showing us
a real view of the story instead of the ideas fed to the public by film and
some literature. I wish the company and its staff every success for
the future
Regards

A REVIEW OF RICHARD'S JACK THE RIPPER DVD UNMASKING JACK THE RIPPER HAS JUST APPEARED IN THE AMERICAN JOURNAL RIPPER NOTES. THE REVIEW WAS WRITTEN BY TOM WESCOTT AN ACKNOWLEDGED AND MUCH RESPECTED AUTHORITY ON THE JACK THE RIPPER CRIMES.
"As it stands now Unmasking Jack the Ripper is far and away the best independent documentary on the subject to have come along, and it even puts to shame many of the televised productions of years past... Unmasking really rests on the efforts of one man: Richard Jones. Familiar to viewers of the History Channels documentary on Jack the Ripper, Jones has been a relatively quiet contributor to the case until now. While many of us can be regularly found in the pages of journals such as the one you're holding...Jones has been in the field, conducting walking tours and amassing a terrific knowledge of the East End's history in general and the Jack the Ripper crimes in particular. As not only the writer and director of the film but also its host and narrator, the success of Unmasking rests solely on Jones' ability to convey this knowledge. Thankfully, he does so with exceptional skill, and the result is a fluid narration that is appropriately dramatic, even chilling at times, without stepping over the line into Cheeseville... You can now count one more voice among the ever growing chorus calling Unmasking Jack the Ripper one of the best, if not the best, Ripper documentaries in years..."

To whom it may concern:
This past Aug. 31 (the 118th anniversary of the first murder), a friend and I were fortunate to participate in the Jack the Ripper walk guided by Jenny Philips. I wanted you to know what a treasure you have in her. She was so interesting and her delivery of the information was as if she was telling a very important story to a loved one. I think the fact that she is very interested in the subject matter makes a huge difference too.
I guess I shouldn't be surprised that a company that took the care to create such a terrific and complete web site would hire only the best guides. As a frequent business traveller, I will certainly recommend your walk to my co-workers. You can read all there is to read about Jack the Ripper, but until you have "walked the walk," your knowledge is incomplete.

We were on your Ripper tour on September 1st (my son and I, from the U.S.) [Their guide was Jenny Philips] and it was great.........I didn't anticipate it to be so wonderful. Our guide's storytelling craft was superb, and the photos were not something we expected.
I've been telling everyone about it, so if and when they visit London, they'll join you for sure.
All the best,
