Jack the Ripper Tours have grown in popularity over the last few years and many companies have entered the market to offer Jack the Ripper tours around the sites where the infamous murders occurred in 1888. Our intention is to offer you what we consider to be the best of all the Jack the Ripper tours. We do this with a combination of excellent guides; a route that begins right in the heart of Jack the Ripper territory; and by showing you unique photographs of the streets and houses that you will pass showing them as they were in 1888. In this way we can guarantee that you will get the true feel of the Victorian East End, and get to see much more of the area when you join one of our world-famous Jack the Ripper Tours.

WHAT WE OFFER ON OUR JACK THE RIPPER TOURS.

Your Jack the Ripper Tour begins by looking at a photograph of the view from the spot where walk starts as it was in 1888. In the distance you will be able to see the steeple of the Whitechapel that gave its name to the district. This really does set the scene and helps transport your imagination back to that long ago era of bloodshed and mayhem. From here you set off in the direction of the photograph and turn left through a delightfully spooky old archway to enter a cobble-stoned  thoroughfare that in 1888 was known as George Yard. This is what Jack the Ripper Tours should really be about, because immediately you gaze upon three buildings that have survived from 1888. These include the pub in the basement of which one of the major Jack the Ripper suspects worked as a barber in 1890. Towards the top of George Yard used to stand George Yard Buildings on the first floor landing of which the body of Martha Tabram was discovered. Several of the police officers who worked on the case believed her to be the first victim of Jack the Ripper. We discuss whether she was or not, presenting you with the evidence both for and against that will allow you to make your own mind up.

From here our Jack the Ripper Tours move on to explore the streets of Spitalfields that formed the back cloth against which the saga of the Whitechapel Murders was played out. We take you through streets that are just as they were in 1888. We show you photographs of the murder sites (all of which were torn down long ago) to enable you to get the full feel of what these places were like.

Of all the Jack the Ripper tours ours is the only one that takes you to the Police Station where the officers were based who investigated the Whitechapel Murders. From here the likes of Inspectors Reid and Abberline set out to pit their wits against the 'maniac's cunning' and endeavoured to bring the perpetrator of the crime to justice. We will tell you the full story of their attempts to do so, and explain the obstacles and problems that faced them. We will discuss the reasons why the police, apparently, had little luck in tracing the killer, and explain how the victims of Jack the Ripper actually helped him to commit the murders and then escape undetected. We will also explain how the two police forces that were involved in trying to catch the killer may have been hampered by personality clashes at the highest level.

We guarantee that every fact you hear has been well researched and is 100%accurate. Your guide will be conversant with all the facts and will be both able and willing to answer any questions you may have. You are welcome to walk alongside the guide and discuss your own theories and opinions on what is without doubt a fascinating case.

That is why we like to encourage you to read something of the case before you join us on a tour. That is why ours is the only one of all the Jack the Ripper Tours that puts the full Jack the Ripper story on our website. In this way you can read the full history of the Whitechapel murders before you join us. You will, therefore, be well versed in the various twists and turns of the case before you set out on your journey into the darker recesses of Whitechapel.

The photographs  on this page are genuine photographs of the buildings, streets and places featured on our Jack the Ripper Tours. It is our sincere belief that we offer one of the most atmospheric routes in London. Why not see for yourselves? Take a look at the photograph to the right. This is one of the many passageways through which we venture within an hour of the start of your Jack the Ripper Walk. In every one of them you are pitched back to that long ago autumn of terror. The picture to the left shows the first of these passageways into which we go. Here you will find a building where a leading suspect for the mantle of Jack the Ripper worked in 1890. Here also is a building that has the year 1886 emblazoned above it. And at the top is the site of what at the time was believed to be the first Jack the Ripper murder. In other words you have three sites which are related to the Jack the Ripper murders situated within five minutes of the start of our tours. From here, you will spend an hour in streets and places that are just as they were in 1888.

So if you want to get the facts, the true facts, and nothing but the accurate facts about the infamous 19th century murderer, then join the guides that will bring history to life against a backcloth of buildings streets and places that have survived from that long ago era of gas-lit terror.
