Following the success of last week’s Facebook competition we’re ploughing ahead with a second one that will be going live tomorrow.
Our new competition will give you the opportunity to win a copy of the DVD of Richard’s Jack the Ripper Tour.
This is our acclaimed drama/documentary that was shot on location in Clerkenwell’s extremely atmospheric House of Detention in 1997.
A somewhat youthful Richard Jones tells you the story of the Jack the Ripper murders and leads you round the streets of the East End of London then and now. The DVD features a Jack the Ripper Walk through several streets that no longer exist, its amazing the changes that the area has seen since Richard began offering the tour in 1982.
There are a series of dramatic reconstructions that really help to bring the streets of Victorian London to life, and Richard even sports a fine (ish) moustache as the 1980’s had only just passed!
The video tour takes you around the Jack the Ripper Murder sites so that you can something of the feel for the streets as they are now, and it looks at various aspects of the case such as the letter that was signed Jack the Ripper, and which gave the unknown East End murderer the name by which he would come down to posterity.
So if you want to be in with a chance of winning this Jack the Ripper DVD get on over to our Jack the Ripper Tours Facebook Page which, in addition to giving you the opportunity of winning some great prizes, such as books, DVD’s and free tours, will also keep you up to date on all new developments on our tour and on the Jack the Ripper case itself.
